School Workshops

Margaret Grenier is of Gitksan and Cree ancestry. She is the Executive and Artistic Director for the Dancers of Damelahamid Society. Her mother, Gramma Harris, is a well known elder in Vancouver and Prince Rupert, has also taught Margaret her Cree traditions and culture.

Margaret Grenier has extensive experience as a presenter for cultural workshops on story, song and dance for K-12 schools, post-secondary institutions, conferences, and museums. She has also worked as a education consultant for Aboriginal art and educational programs for organizations such as the Bill Reid Art Gallery, and the HR MacMillan Space Centre.

Activities include interactive dance movement as well as teaching background information on the Coastal First Nations of BC as well as Prairie culture, traditional teachings and dance. Programs can be either one class or a series of classes tailored to meet the needs of your classroom.
